Indeed is an employment search site for employers and job seekers both. The site was founded in November 2004 by Paul Forster and Rony Kahan in Austin, Texas, and currently operates as a division of the Japanese company Recruit Co Ltd with offices in Austin, Texas, and Stamford, Connecticut. Indeed is available to job seekers and employers in 28 different languages and 60 countries worldwide. Other services offered by Indeed include the ability to apply for jobs directly on the website and upload and store your resume for use in applying for positions as well as information on average salaries for various industries and locations.
Members signing up for the site as job seekers simply need to sign up for a free account with their email and a password, and choose whether or not to upload their resume for use on the site. After doing so, members may search for jobs based on job titles, locations, or keywords, and receive email alerts for new positions that match their saved searches. Employers may choose to sign up for a hiring account which allows for posting jobs as well as headhunting suitable candidates among those registered on the site. Jobs can be posted for free on the site. Pricing varies based on location but US-based employers may choose a standard or premium resume search account. Standard accounts may contact up to 30 job seekers per month for $100.00 and premium accounts may contact up to 100 members for $250.00 per month. Sponsored jobs appear highlighted in job seeker searches and may be purchased by the day or month with pricing determined by industry and location. All paid options renew automatically until canceled by the member but may be canceled at any time. More information can be found below to assist you with canceling your Indeed account.
